About Drew
After earning his degree in public speaking, Drew Zahn spent a decade working in Christian ministry, another decade in the news media, and another decade in public relations. Over 30 years, Drew has given over 1,000 speeches in a variety of settings, and he has coached actors, activists, preachers, and politicians – from the rookie to the professional – on improving their speaking skill.
But while teaching teenagers at a leadership camp, Drew discovered the strategic 20 percent of speaking skills that make the biggest, immediate difference for public speakers.
Here's how...
At the leadership camp, Drew was tasked with teaching teens – in a single, hour-long session – how to debate and advocate for bills in a mock legislature. Two days later, the teens – many of whom had never given a speech before – stood in the former Supreme Court chamber at the Iowa State Capitol and put their newfound speaking skills to the test.
All the while, Drew was watching and learning … to see what works.
Through several years of rinse and repeat, Drew refined his seminar – emphasizing the skills that helped the students win their debates and cutting from the course those techniques that didn’t move the needle.
Then, Drew applied those same lessons to professionals.
